Alexandria Walls received her bachelor’s of art degree in Economics and Accounting from Tougaloo College in 2014. She is currently an elementary educator at Leadership Preparatory Charter School and a member of Teach For America 2020 Cohort. During her time at Tougaloo in 2014, Ms. Walls co-founded the non-profit organization Womanhood International Inc., which focuses on the growth and maintenance of women as they navigate the many stages of life. Womanhood has three mentoring levels- middle school, high school and college. In addition to mentoring, Womanhood members participate in multiple community service events in the Jackson metropolitan area. Services include a recurring sanitary napkin drive.
This year, 2021, Ms. Walls launched her consulting business, The Big Blue Couch which aims to help spiritually-lead women entrepreneurs remove limiting beliefs and create a step-by-step business plan that will allow them to maximize their potential. Ms. Walls is rooted in a few core beliefs.
1. We control our realities and our effort reflects our outcomes. We have to work to achieve the outcome but it can be done.
2. Support. One must give support to receive support. She believes that anything we go through, God allowed it to happen, possibly, to help someone else endure the way God helped us.
3. Live with a judgment free attitude. When mentoring, ministering and consulting, you meet people in different phases of their lives. Some places we may have been, some we cannot relate to much, but regardless, we should never look down on the next person or take the wrong attitude towards them. As imperfect as we are, what if God judged us during our trials and obstacles?
These core beliefs are the driving factors behind Ms. Walls businesses and non-profit and also guides her in her personal life.
